Protecting Wild Places Under Pressure

As visitation to national parks and wild places grows, the pressures on these fragile landscapes are increasing. Across the American West, old ranch lands are being developed into home sites, and rising energy demands have led to drilling in or near many of the natural areas we hold dear.

Supporting Conservation Through Action

Adventure Travel West actively supports conservation organisations including the WEF Regenerative Project, the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund, and the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance. Through our memberships and donations, we advocate for the long-term protection of America’s wild places and believe responsible eco-tourism can help balance preservation with access.

We’re also mindful of the broader environmental impact of long-haul travel. Within our team, we hold regular discussions on how we can minimise our footprint and evolve our operations for the better.

Minimising Our Impact

Our group tours follow strict low-impact principles: we travel in small groups, follow Leave No Trace practices, use group transport to reduce emissions, recycle wherever possible, and support local businesses. We also encourage our travellers to offset their carbon impact through verified programs.

Why It Matters

We know these efforts aren’t a perfect solution. But we believe that experiencing wild places firsthand inspires a deeper appreciation for their value - and a shared responsibility to protect them for the future.
